The Cross-Strait Intellectual Property Right Protection Cooperation Agreement was signed by the TIPO and SIPO on June 29, 2010 and came into effect on September 12, 2010. Through the efforts of competent authorities on the two sides, the priority rights of patent, trademark and plant variety were mutually recognized since November 22, 2010, and the basic applications first filed on or after September 12, 2010 are enabled to claim priority.

Furthermore, the competent authority in China indicated that the copyright of audiovisual products from Taiwan will be handled and certified by the Taiwan Association for Copyrights Protection (TCPA) when the relevant procedures are completed.
